If you look at any middle eastern country (minus Lebanon, Turkey and Isreal) the reason most people live in chaos is because of a few arisocrats control the oil profits and don't share.
Muslim elites use religion and hate of the west to stay rich and powerful.
Muslims should demand democratic control of their governments rather than buy into this propaganda which keeps them ignorant and miserable.

Unfortunately, that is the result of the very system itself.The people are not provided with a real education, and without a free-market/democratic background, the poor and oppressed do not even consider that they do not have to be poor and oppressed. So they will agree with whatever their leaders tell them. And if their leaders tell them things to shift the blame for their situation, so as to prevet the people from trying to do anything to change that situation, they will go along.
However, this would not be as easy as it is if we hadn't given them some truth behind their allegations. We have inserted ourselves in the affairs of the region for decades. From our perspective, that is understandable, as a global superpower dealing with a vital region. But from the perspective of people who are living in a world dominated by religious beliefs and fundamentalism, it can look like we're trying to control them.
