I don't think he can be 'brand new', but maybe it has been awhile, and maybe only a few times. I think since there was only a certain amount of souls made in the beginning, that I can't imagine that he waited until now to come for the first time.
But maybe his earlier lives were done so long ago, and so much has changed in the world since the beginning, maybe that is why he is having difficulty. Just my opinion.

Interesting, but no. The saying "he's been here before" is just a silly saying complementing someone on how well they got over a problem and did a good a job of whatever it was. They have either a good problem solving brain, or have done of something similar before. End of story.

just give him time, calling him brand new is essentially calling him slow, by your definition of clever. have patience, he'll come around. be there for him and help him when he's stuck.

i'm not crazy about your theory, the more times you were reborn may mean the more times you were unlucky enough to die. that may mean you never learned your lesson in the first place.

My fortune teller once told my friend that he was 'an old soul'. so, I guess it could be possible.

But I don't think that how much you can or cannot learn measures if he is 'new' or 'old'. Even Einstein stuggled through school...so it could be the way things are presented to him, or maybe he just isn't interested in what he is learning. There are so many types of smart!

i think you choose to come back and face a new challenge or experience a different side of the coin each time.to discover why ur here seems to be sum peoples life goal but it shud be to live ur life enjoy it then at the end you evaluate it and choose summin diffrent next time wudn't be fun ta come back as the same thing over and over

Perhaps he needs more encouragement and positive reinforcement. He needs to be shown that learning is essential and positive, and a necessity for survival. A private tutor wouldn't hurt either.

i have never heard of that theory of life before and i think it's a wonderful thing to belive in, and don't worry about your son sruggling just encourage him and great things can be achived, look at Richard Branson.

Its not yours for starters. And its theory not theary. For seconds and thirdly, some people are brighter than others plain and simple.

You're thinking of ignorance, not stupidity. What you know depends on what you learn, your willingness to work through it and how long it all wants to stay in your head.
Maybe your son has an autism spectrum disorder.
