I need some information on boats. I want to buy a boat. I want a boat that can go in freshwater and saltwater. I definately want one for marsh fishing, but would like one that I can take deep sea fishing too. I am not worried about shark fishing or anything like that. I want something as inexpensive as possibe, but can go fishing for Tuna and King Macarel.

Best of luck, with the current increase in fuel prices, there will not be many going out into the water here

You are not going to get a good boat to do evereything that you want to do, because fresheater you are going to want a fairly flatt bottom as it is usurally flat water that is farley shallow, but you can't take a flat bottomed boat on the ocean, so decide what you want to do more and than pick the type of boat you want. I would want at least a 30 foot boat on the ocean, i know that there are people that go out in much smaller craft than that but 30 foot is safe, there is plenty of room to move around it and less chance of capsizing on the ocean, although the only way i would go on the ocean is sailing because of th extra stability the sails provide, and it is almost impossible to capsize a well designed single hull yacht.

Sounds like a bay boat is for you. They are designed for in shore fishing and will float in 10 - 12 inches of water, yet have a deep enough "v" that you can take offshore on reasonably good days (under 2-3' waves) Try seaproboats.com and look at their SV1900 and SV2100 they are the originator of the bay style.

hate to tell you buddy, but anything like that is not going to be inexpensive. you also dont want to buy an inexpensive boat and be caught 30 miles offshore dead in the water. you need something over 21ft, but to fish the marshes mostly, i would look into a bay boat. they are decent offshore, just pick a pretty calm day. go with something used in pretty good condition. you can get a good quality boat for cheaper. i like bay stealth's myself but there are many out there for the job

Sounds to me, you may want to purchase a used fiberglass or aluminium boat.
Depending on whether or not you leave it in the saltwater or pick it up for washing after using.
Saltwater--- fiberglass = less maintenance
Freshwater/ Marsh---aluminium = less maintenance

If you want to go in the Marshes you need shallow draft. preferably flat bottom. If you want to go offshore, you'll want deep draft, probably deep Vee. A compromise will be hard to find especially at a cheap price.

Werepoodle does certainly have it lined yet one theory. each and every boat is somebody inspite of maker, kind, and 12 months, new or used. decide for along with your head no longer your heart (yet do no longer pass away that thoroughly out of the equation).

A "Bayliner" would be the "cheapest" way to go, I wouldn't venture into the ocean in anything under 22'
