I STILL have my Raggedy Ann doll, (I'm over 40) my mother said I carried her EVERYWHERE until I was about 7. She seemed to think that the exposure/socialization of the school environment helped me 'let go' of Raggedy.

Never is to old to have a doll, whenever she is ready to let go of the doll she will eventually get sick of it, or if you want her to get rid of the doll try giving her something else to play with and pack away the doll in a suitcase or something then when she gets older bring it back out and show it to her.

about 15 is when you might want to get concerned. I still have dolls, because my parents, and family gave them to me. But I don't play with them anymore. I just keep them because they have memories. She will let it go eventually.

If she doesn't have a sibling she might be lonely, or she might be practicing for when she grows up! You never know! She could always break the habit whenever. Believe me I played with Barbies until I was like 12! Sometimes you just grow out of it, and sometimes it's just a growing up thing! =)

It's not a decision of when it's time to get rid of them. It's a matter of when they are no longer playthings, but instead become collectibles.
