Is it her that's wanting to look feminine or is it you that's wanting her to look feminine?

There's a considerable overlap between male and female characteristics and many people fall into an indeterminate zone between the two. Indeed some women are actually genetically XY and therefore technically genetically male.

Even if your friend is actually female, she may have so many male characteristics she does appear more like a guy than a girl.

If she wants to appear more feminine she should

* grow her hair long

* make sure there's absolutely no trace of facial hair evident. If she has the slightest trace of moustache she should shave it off every day without fail

* Has she proper breasts? Make sure they show. Get a top quality gel bra and let her cleavage show. It's absolutely vital that the actual flesh of her breasts is visible to show that it's real

* wear skirts, not pants

* shave her legs very regularly, daily if necessary to make sure that no hair is obvious.

In other words, she's really got to make an effort to look as if she's feminine or she'll go on being regarded as masculine. But be warned -- if a girl is naturally masculine, it's a time-consuming struggle to keep up the appearance of being feminine.

She should wear clothes that flatter her figure. She can create a slender feminine look by wearing the longer shirts and a knee length skirt with a belt. Or if that doesn't fit her body type, wear one of those cute dresses that fit above the waist, is belted and comes to the knees. Also, try wearing pumps. It is a great way to add a feminine touch to any outfit.

Some people are really rude, aren't they?

I don't consider such folk a worthy inspiration for expending special effort.

Any special "feminine" accents are also routinely used by male transvestites, so frills and make-up and whatever aren't going to make a difference to the rude people.

The grace to be able to ignore rude people is humane and attractive in any gender.

She probably can let hair grow, get highlights, wear a little makeup, earrings and some simple jewerly. She doesn't need to spend a lot of money, there's some nice fine inexpensive jewerly a dept. stores. Always have nails manicured, they don't need to be long but as long as they look neat and a nice pale color if their short. She can also wear a perfume that she feels comfortable with. Also wear purple, pink, red, colors that guys do not usually wear. Tell her to relax, smile and feel good about herself. Best wishes!

Live and let live! Perhaps her body hasn't developed as fast as others and as long as SHE is comfortable in her own skin, that's all that matters.
People can be so heartless and cruel these days! I looked like a tomboy at 13, but by 17 I could put any female to shame!
I hope your friend can ignore lame brains and those who have no class!

Wear some color on her face. A little eyeshadow, lip gloss (sheer color from bath and body), and mascara. A nice ponytail with a scarf wrapped around it. Nice tunics or tees work well with slacks or denim. Flats are in. Polishing a nice pink or another color on her nails. A small handbag like the wristlets from coach or dooney. Go shop at wet seal, aeropostale, and forever 21 for fashion ideas. She should really play up on accessories.

This is mainly just immaturity and she just needs to ignore them. It's hard I know.
But if she wants to seem more feminine, dress more feminine and girly, straighten your hair, wear makeup, wax your eyebrows.
But really, don't change who you are just to fit in, if thats who she is, then tell her not to change, you're already better than them, and they have nothing better to do than harrass people.
Either way, goodluck!=]
