Even if you did not believe in war, or death penality. Would you change your mind if your child was killed by a bomb in their school, or just going to the store by a car bomb? Or if your parents where killed just for beleaving in a different God?

It is easy to say no I wouldnt, but think about it, would you not want revenge on the people or person who did it?

My beliefs are not at the mercy of my feelings. What I feel and what I believe aren't always the same thing. It's a difficult question, but I've personally never seen the point of revenge, it will just cause more pain for other people and does nothing to right the situation. If you let beliefs change according to your emotions, it probably wasn't a very strong belief to begin with.

First i would ask myself, if these persons wanted revenge(parents, kids) ? I am worthy of seeking revenge for them? Does the god they service support revenge? Can revenge ease the pain i feel? Will revenge bring them back? Is the problem solved? If, i get revenge wouldn't some1 else want revenge for my actions? Is revenge and justice the same thing? I would want revenge it is only human to be vengeful but it might not be worth it and it would only make my pain worst.

Loss of a loved one is personal. It can only be resolved inside. The reason for loss is a different issue. There are very few good reasons. Dealing with that, or rather redirecting grief as anger, might camouflage the real issue of personal devastation.

Loathing is right death does not solve anything - but it would stop another child molester/killer from doing it again to someones else's child. Jail sentences are not long enough and they let them out to commit crimes over again. I honestly do not know how I would react to one of my family/children being hurt never mind being murdered.

Its in our nature to want an eye for an eye, however the reaction after we relieve our anger can only be worse.

at least on a personal level, sometimes you have to do things. But war is not personal, you lie to children and make them fight for you.

If you have a personal vandetta and you're willing to kill yourself to accomplish it then you must do what you feel is right. But institutionalized violence, certainly manipulative violence for profit is never agreeable.
