Does anyone know which six flags theme park is the best one to visit on the east coast of the US. I live in Vermont so it needs to be fairly close to home.

If you want to go somewhere close, go to the Six Flags New England in Massachutessets.
If you want the best Six Flags with the best roller coasters and rides, spend a little extra money and go to the one in New Jersey.

Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA (formerly Riverside Park) is your closest SF park.
It's not the best park in the chain, however, it has one of the best steel coasters in the entire world, Superman Ride of Steel.
Superman is a flat out kick butt ride that leaves most people just gushing afterwards. It has a lot of "airtime" (negative g's) where you float off of your seat and has a lot of speed. Wonderful ride.
There also is a classic coaster there, Thunderbolt, which is a twister that's well over 50 years old.
If you spend more time, pop down to Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT for Boulderdash, one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world, consistently very very high ranked since it was built a few years ago.

There is one in Lake George NY,exit 21 of interstate 87, not huge ,but it does in a pinch. Close to Vermont.
Plus there is the new Great Escape Lodge that has indoor water slides and wave pool for all year fun! NO I do NOT work for them!

dont know ....i dont live on the east coast ....but you could always visit illinois and go to the one in gurnee,illinois
