I have someone wanting to buy an item from me and they are using a money order from stormpay.com. I have never heard of them and was wondering if anyone else uses them and what there opinion is. Is it like Paypal just more open to payments? Please help, Thank you.

Wiki has an article about them.

From what I read, most of the possible risk is with the buyer and not the seller. Howerver, that is just what I got from glancing at the page. There are complaints and lawsuits with them. Also, you may need to check with Stormpay to see what you have to do to get your money. Are their fees reasonable? How do they compare to Paypal?

Personally, I would not want to use a company with such little recognition. I would want to use someone with a better track record.

What you may want to do if you use them is to let the seller know that since you are unfamiliar with Stormpay, that you will have to wait 2 weeks before shipping. That way you can make sure that you get your money without something going bad. Treat Stormpay as if someone was paying with a check.

I have not used stormpay.

I would highly suggest reading the link below. It mentions information regarding their company and the services they provide. It gives you an overall scope of who they are. I would also read the "Criticisms" section. They have some beef with the Better Business Bureau. This way, at least, you know who and what they are.

Hope this helps.
