Apparently you have never tried to skin a wild animal alive. It would take all day to get it shackled down to the point it could not move before you could skin it. That would not make economic sense so I rather doubt any are skinned alive.
They may be shocked to death to avoid fur damage but if you tried to skin one alive, you'd probably end up with the worst end of it.
Having made those observations, does anyone wear leather in any products? Or how about makeup ( made from rendered animal fats up to and including Fido and Fifi.)
Just wondering if everyone quit wearing all those other items, too.

Well, whether most fur is actually acquired by torturous methods is another question. The fur itself, people still wear because they recognize that animals are lower forms of life, not higher.
You might as well ask why people are still writing on paper or sitting on chairs that come from trees that are skinned alive and abused before they die...

i don't wear it but i try not to stay close minded or push my views on to others.
people wearing the fur are not to blame because whether they buy it or not it will still be there. should we just let it rot in a store window and not put it to use? we cannot stop people from killing animals, humans have been doing it since civilization began.
