RE:
How do Asians use a keyboard?
In Asian countries I've heard that they have a different character for each word. How are their keyboards designed.

That's only for chinese. Koreans and Japanese have an alphabet.
I'm writing on a Korean and English keyboard right now. It's basically a QWERTY keyboard with Korean letters printed on each key next to the english letters. I just switch on the Korean fonts, and voila: 한글.

I am guessing that they have some sort of short hand that allows certain basic symbols to make the wordsymbol as a whole. To explain better say the word you want to type something like _o/\_ that means doggystyle =) you would have a key for each part making up the whole word as certain marks are used commonly (a key for o _ / you get the idea...). Of corse I could be wrong and they use giant 50,000 symbol keyboards :)

Koreans use a phonetic alphabet called "hangul" and can type with a keyboard that uses it. Microsoft has a program that can convert an English keyboard stroeks into hangul for Korean.
