I can't figure this guy out. The last time I saw him, he was very sweet and affectionate and kept telling me how much he cared about me and how close we were. Now I haven't heard anything from him in over 2 weeks. I'd call him myself, but he doesn't have a cell phone and I don't know where he's currently staying.
What am I supposed to assume? Should I think that he doesn't want anything to do with me anymore? I'm so confused.

It sounds like he's confused or he's just playing games with you. If he was sincere about how he felt about you I wouldn't rule it out completely that he'll come back, but I'd move on and definately not wait for him.

Options are -
Either he's dead
Or if he's alive
He is on cocain and his mood swings are mad, so one day one day no care
Or, he found someone else
So just don't wait for him, look elsewhere and when he arrives one day then it's your judgement whether you should run after him, or leave him as he is stupid not to be there when you need him!

sweet and affectionate and kept telling you how much he cared? sounds like a playa to me. it was smooth of him to have slipped away like that. or he's probably dead.

Sounds to me like he's waiting for you to do something. He seems to have laid the ground work for what maybe a good relationship. But he's playing it cautious and waiting to see what your going to do.

Been there, done that. Don't dwell on it as you will torture yourself and don't need it.
Just let it go. Sounds to me he just wants to be friends and nothing more...so don't assume anything and take care of yourself and your needs.
