They are just given rest , no selector can dare to do so , its unfortunate for our indian cricket that like mcgrath ,lara ,haq and others ,our indian cricketers don't want to retire ,they will not get sponsers if they do so ,just wann earn more and more money

According to clarification given by Dilip Vengsarkar, Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly have been rested for the Bangladesh Tour and that they will be considered for England Tour and other future tournament. He also clarified that it is part of the rotation policy and that other players and even Rahul Dravid too will be rested at some point of time.

I think it is very unfortunate that we are to debate this issue. Having seen the recent performance i believe both of them should have been dropped from the team and board should have shown the guts to declare that they have been dropped from the team.

I think at the end of the day we want to see india perform well and not to see sachin and saurav play like this.

We should have a selection body to select the selectors.

To answer your question, the selection bosy wants to do something big. With the permission from Sachin and Saurav they are not picked for the Bang tour.

This is one of the toughest questions to answer. Its almost both - rested & dropped.
Whether its rested or dropped itdoesn't matter, they'll sure be there when they travel to England/Ireland.
Its also good somehow, as newcomer talents can be used. Newcomers could be more important than Sachin & Sehwag as they'll have to face atleast 3 to 4 more WCs and many more matches.
So Jai Hind Bharat! You can do it! Beat Bangladesh! Restore Pride!

They are dropped and so should have been Dravid, Dhoni and Shewag. There should not be any half measures in evaluating players performance.... why still dravid continues to b a captain.. god only knows... wasnt he the captain wen the so-called great indian team didnt qualify even for the super eight in this world cup!!

What is rest.. it is either in or dropped... ,even Kapil said so.
Selectors dropped them and it just a way to say.. they have been given time to rest. They can not say , we dropped them.
It's all politics. They are suppose to choose a young team..
At first.. Captain Rahul-- is he capable to lead?
Dinesh Mongia.. How young... Sewagh.. young enough and flopped?
and so on.....
It is simply polltics. Selectors are just puppet of Board.. they say what they are dictated.

Despite sentiment for their past performances they should be dropped for the betterment of your team. To go with youth (your future) is the answer.
