I was having breakfast in a coffee shop one Mother's Day morning- just relaxing and reading the Sunday paper. I don't have kids, so I never thought twice about it being odd that I was eating out alone on Mother's Day. The waitress came over and told me that my breakfast was paid for by a young couple who had just left- they wanted her to wait till they left to tell me. Very nice gesture, even tho I'm not a mom.

Once when I was in high school - about 17 - I was at the mall in a store and a man walks in and tells me to buy whatever I want and he would pay for it. I did and he did. He didn't even ask me for my number or anything.
Another time: I was at the casino and I was walking past a table where a guy just won some money. He gave me a hundred dollar chip.

Phoned me to pick up my lost wallet.
I was v. poor at the time and was sick with worry.
Everything was in the wallet, credit card, driver's license, some money, health card, etc.
This was a miracle to me as I worked in a very seedy part of town (worked in theatrical productions).
Will never for get this.
