I like it, it's a good story (it is a work of fiction, after all), well written. Haven't seen the film, but heard it is not so good. And anyway, I preferred Angels & Demons. But I am at the moment reading Digital Fortress, which I am also enjoying!!

I really enjoyed the book and the concept. I found the ideas enthralling and well-researched. It's a well-written piece of fiction if nothing else. The ideas are challenging and I think that's why people either love or hate about it. The devout Christians hate the idea of anything questioning their faith. The open-minded love new ideas. I myself subscribe to the motto that it's better to have good ideas than beliefs as a belief is basically a part of your mind closed to any new reasoning.

I'm not a great fan of the film tho..the adaption of the concept was shallow and it barely even touched on the Da Vinci link.

I haven't read the book, but I heard it was great. Usually I don't go with the crowd on making opinions, I prefer to try something for myself and make a decision from there. Quite a few people had told me to not even bother but I rented it anyways, curious to know what all the hoopla was about, and I came to the conclusion that it has an interesting story but the movie itself was one of the worst I ever saw and should go down in movie history as a horrible failure. That's all I have to say about that.

Only heard of it in that it has upset a lot of people in the Vatican. Okay, so Jesus got someone pregnant, so what. He was a man! Right.

Relgion is all about 'sex control' - take that away and the gonzo priests have nowhere else to go!

Thou shalt not have sex in the Garden of Eden - as if I would. You mean right here in the park?

All the gods invented by mankind were born of virgins. Is that sane or what? No such thing can happen, not even when visited by an angel. Right!??

Well compared to the book the movie sucked but that's the best book ever. I love it. Every one says all this bs about it being so anti religous even though they haven't read the book. I think that's pretty sad if one books gonna screw up thier religion, u know what i mean?? The bible is a book for it so why can't there be a book against christianity?? All everyone preaches is god and jesus are so good well guess what dan brown doesn't think they were so holy so get over yourselves!!!

The movie was good (with the exception of Tom Hanks' hair :::shudders at the mere thought:::) with a few changes here and there from the book, which I think is really interesting and thought provoking.

I know there is a lot of controversy over this book and movie...but still...I really wouldn't mind if Jesus hooked up with Mary Magdaline...to me that would make him more human and to me more likeable. Yes I know Jesus was already human but to know that he held a special place in his heart for a woman he loved makes him more romantic and more of a man to me...it makes him more REAL.

I have no plans to read it or see the movie. I work in a library and it's catalogued under "fiction". that means the story was made up. if it was real (which seems to be at the heart of the controversy), it would be in the 200s with the other religious books.

I love the book. I like the movie better after seeing it 2 times and that I try not to compare it to the book.
Sophie is a weaker character in the movie.

BTW did you know Bill Paxson was suppose to play Robert?

The book held my interest, but was disappointed by the ending. The author spends his whole story telling how important the secret they are guarding is, and how it could change the whole world, etc. In the end, when the secret is revelaed, it is nothing but an excuse for sex orgies. Disappointing.

Have not bothered to see the movie.

It was a pretty decent movie. It presented ideas and theories of an alternate Jesus storyline. My take is that the movie didn't mock God, it mocked the Catholic Church, hence, people in the Vatican being offended by it. It's really an interesting story if you take it to ponder that it _could_ have been something that happened.
