#1 Mom candy bars

You will need:

Construction paper
scotch tape or stickers
Crunch or Hershey bars (leave in foil slide off outter wrapper)
and imagination!

Mom's love chocolate! Create a new outter wrapper by cutting construction paper just enough to wrap around the candy bars. Have the kids decorate the construction paper, then have them wrap the decorated paper around the candy bar, like the wrapper and one piece of scotch tape or a sticker on the back to close it up. I would buy chocolate bars from the dollar store, hopefully they are 3 for $1 still. They can be creative, hang ribbon from it, decorate with stickers, fruit loops just bring fun colorful stuff, crayons, markers, glue-make a sample so the can get ideas from you. They can put a special message to mom on their wrappers. She will love the thought & the chocolate!

Buy a spool of 1" blue satin ribbon, and 1/2" silver satin ribbon, and enough small gold safety pins for everyone, and some glue.

Have them cut two inch long strips of each ribbon. Dip the ends in glue, and fold over the safety pin (the flat bar, not the sharp bar). Now they have made "First Prize" ribbons for Mom.

I think this is one of my favorite ideas!
Plastic Bag Holder

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A plastic grocery bag holder. This is my version of one.

Take a piece a fabric 16"x27", fold right sides together so it is 8"x27", sew 1/4" seam down the 27" side, hem one end, hem other end over 4"lenth of 1/2" of elastic.

Now make a handle from 5"x13" piece of fabric by folding rightsides together 2 1/2x 13", sew 13" side with 1/4 seam , turn rightside out, add to the body of the bag(16"x27") the side without elastic.

Now comes the fun part, put the plastic bags in one at a time at the top of the body bag. Then pull the plasic out at the bottom(elastic end), just like an upsidedown kleenex box. this looks great if you make it from scraps of fabric stripped together for a quilted look.

These are real neat I made them for a craft fair and sold out.

Hope this helps

construction paper, markers, maybe some stamps of butterflies or flowers. Mothers love that stuff.

when I was in school we did a project where we folded muffin cups in half and made "flowers" we glude them to construction paper and drew stems on them and got as creative as we wanted. In side the muffin cups we wrote things that we loved about our moms. Kinda cheesy but works well for young kids.

Jewerly box with popsicle sticks... just use regular glue. You can paint the sticks before the project so they dont have to wait for them to dry. For the lid you can suggest they make it plain or make it a frame for a pic.

You could have them make fingerprint people cards or make a necklace. Umm....decorate a small vase and plant a seed.

Have them make a "plaque" of 5 reasons my mom is the greatest...

hope that helps maybe!
