My first car was a 1954 Ford christened the "blue bomb". The year was 1967. I had to work, save the money, give it to my dad who went and picked out the car. The total cost was $250 which was quite a lot in those days. That's when gasoline was 25 cents per gallon and you and your friends could go a long way on a dollar's worth of gas. The movies were 90 cents to get in and cokes at the local drive in was 10 cents.
ps. I now have 2 cars bought brand new by me, picked out & paid for by me and solely for me: 1998 Mustang GT -electirc blue and still a beauty and a new BM z4 - platinum gray with a black top. My next one will probably be corvette though people tell me I won't like it. I may just have to see for myself!

1986 Toyota Carola, affectionately nicknamed "The Rat-mobile", due to some "presents" I found in the trunk when I first bought it. This was in 2001. It was my first year in college. I didn't have a license (even though I was 20 years old!), a permit, nothing. I just got my first loan check in the mail. On the way to cashing it, I saw a used car dealer and thought "I should buy a car". I cashed my check, walked over to the dealer, and bought it for $600. My friend drove it home, and I got my permit the very next day, my license 3 months later. It was the first time spontaneity actually worked out for me!
Unfortunately, I neglected to care for it. He died a year later from blown pistons, due to a lack of oil (oops!)

My first car was a 1987 Honda Civic hatchback...silver, 4 speed manual transmission. It was SO base model that it didn't even have a cigarette lighter in it, which back then, almost all cars came with a lighter. I learned how to drive stick in that car and I loved it!! I used to call it my "Sugarbaby" and I had a ton of stickers on it. It had no a/c, no power steering, no power anything!!! But, I really loved that car...
My mom bought the car from my high school sweetheart's parents in 1993, senior year, (I think)...I drove it until 1996, when I traded it for a 1993 black Honda Civic Hatchback with a power sunroof.

In 2001, my mom bought a 1995 honda civic for me to "use". Which meant that she could take the keys away whenever she was mad at me. And I couldn't drive it where ever I wanted, it was strictly work and school (I skipped school a lot though, so it spent a lot of time at my grandparents house). I got tired of that so I moved in with my dad in 2002 and I bought a 1998 isuzu amigo. Mom was pissed but she got over it. And now I have a 2005 chevy aveo and I'm selling the amigo. Any takers?

The first car I actually bought was 1936 Sunbeam Talbot 4- seater tourer. I bought it in 1956 an sold it for more than I paid for it in 1957
Before that I inherited a Morris Minor from my Dad after he died in 1956. It was a 1000cc 1955 model.

My first car was a 1966 Volkswagen Bug! It had an air horn on the left headlight area that was as loud as a train and there were daisies all over it! That was in 1968,and I think that was the best car I ever had! Have a great day! Annie
