I've been thinking Rudy for quite a while but I find Fred Thompson to be quite able for the job also. The entire Democrat slate isn't worth voting for, and I think McCain flip-flops too much. I also liked Huckabee but I don't think he stands a chance either.

My President has to care about people and keep the Government out of our business and out of our pockets. The President has to be willing to give a hand up instead of a hand out, and it's past time that the borders were made safe and the illegals sent away. Two illegals birthing a child in this country should not result in the child being given automatic citizenship, and people should not be rewarded for breaking the law.

It's past time to straighten out the Saudis and the Syrians and the Persians, enough is enough.

Joe Biden , at the age of 29 was voted into Congress in 1972. Has been the Democratic Senator from Delaware for 35 years. He is the chairman of the Senates Foreign Relations' Committee.
In 1994, he authored the landmark legislation that helped set up shelters and a national hotline where women who are abused by husbands or boyfriends can get help. He wrote the Violence Agains Women Act. In 1994, the Biden Crime Law put more than 100,000 cops on the streets, and crime went down eight years in a row.

He has been critical of the Bush Adminstration's handling of the Iraq war and he is the only candidate that has a plan for Iraq.

"The next Democratic leader, and this is what the presidential election is all about, has to challenge the American people, tell them the truth, and trust them."
"No civil right is of value to Americans if their streets are not safe, if they cannot send their kids safely to school, if they are unable to walk out of their house in their neighborhood."

Thank You, and remember ,vote Joe Biden on Primary Day!!!!

Great question - too bad I don't have the answer to do it justice.

("Thought" questions are always less popular than insulting ones, anyway.)

I DON'T have a candidate. I have a list of requirements, against which I am measuring candidates. So far, I'm not terribly impressed.

here goes:

Strong on fighting war on terror, at home and abroad, but also with an ability to explain our goals and why they are important, an ability Bush apparently lacks.

Favors lower taxes but also seeks to get a realistic handle on spending. Some courage to propose reforms in social Security and medicare would be welcome.

Fights for judicial appointments of "originalists" or "strict constructionists."

Works to control our borders and looks for sensible immigration reform.

Someone intelligent, of good character and judgment, with relevant experience and the ability to lead and inspire, but also capable of listening, learning and choosing good advisors.

Someone who has a strong grasp on what this country is and could be, and wants to get us there. Someone who wants to DO something, not just BE president.

Find me a man or woman like that and I'll sign up!

I would make a great President (if I were old enough), so I will wait to announce my candidacy in approximately 7 years. So I am nominating Bill Gates. He is untouchable when it comes to his wish to make the World a better place. He is uncorruptable in that he has more money than any of the lobbyists, corps and Special Interests that will attempt to corrupt him. And he is far smarter than any of the President's we've had...he'd put knowledgeable people into positions of power instead of stupid cronies.

I REALLY like Thompson. And, yes, Thompson/Rice is a dream team for sure. I just wish that Thompson would get in the running. Let's GO! I don't know a lot about him yet, but I have been listening to him and I LIKE WHAT I HEAR.

HILLARY IS SLIP-SLIDIN' AWAY.

Bill Richardson is my candidate. He has negotiated for the release of hostages, he has negotiated with the North Koreans and most recently gone to North Korea and returned with the bodies of some of our soldiers who fought in the Korean war. He has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 4 times. He has been an ambassador to the UN he has been the head of the energy department.

Governor Richardson has all of the qualifications needed to get america back on the right track. He has run a state and done an excellent job at it.

He will be able to handle the Iraq and even Iran issues diplomatically.

He will help us to become less reliant on foreign energy.

He will improve the education of our children and help american children to learn and become competitive in the world job market.

He will help american families gain affordable health insurance.

You know me Buzzard, I am a Traditionalist Conservative. I bet you are not going to get many answers here because the "Bush is the Devil" crowd won't weigh in if they can't spew hate.

That said, I really do not see a viable candidate on the right. Fred Thompson, maybe because he seems to have traditional views... but, I do not know enough about him yet. The rest of the Republican field is not too impressive.

And on the Democratic side, they are all very scary. They want a socialist agenda pushed and that will bring this land to its knees.

It is scary where we may end up in 2008.
