Most countries (or, the people of said country) would do the same, put in that position as a very powerful nation. Humans are, like all animals, greedy.
Resources are finite, everyone tries to get as much as they can by their own means.

Everyone wants to have it all.
I'm more worried about people who expect to have it all just because someone else does. Or people who want lots of 'stuff' but ignore the impact to the rest of the world that making, using and disposing of that 'stuff' has.

Its called Greed. Developing countries and such cannot have it all because the people exceed the resources (carry capacity). The US has too much of everything and waste billions of dollars as well..

The reason why we want to "have it all" is because we are never satisfied and that is because we are not letting the Lord lead our life. If we were allowing the Lord lead we would be satisfied.

Because they take for granted the simplest things that some other more needy countries don't have. They are being ignorant and greedy.

It's a rather greedy culture, all in all. the obesity tells it all, they took america from the indians, they take the oil from the iraquis. what do they give back?
