You can't...sorry...welcome to the wonderful world of nepotism. They are probably annoying BECAUSE they know they are untouchable.
People like this get their comeuppance eventually but you can't be the one to deliver it to them. If it comes down to you vs. the boss's brother-in-law, guess who will be the loser? (Hint: you will.)
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer- befriending this person to a certain level may allow you to learn information that has value. Good luck.

I hope you aren't talking about me! I work at an office with my husband, inlaws and sister-in-law. This person may be annoying because they're stressed past their breaking point. Just don't be confrontational, and make an effort to let him/her know that you're there to help. You'll be surprised how much they'll appreciate and respond to this. Good luck!

Forget it. The only possible solution ( and the traditional one) is to marry her. Then you become the boss.
