Iran is a theocratic republic, not a dictatorship. It seems that way by the way our government and media portray them. They have two important leaders. Chief of state: Supreme Leader Ali Hoseini-KHAMENEI (since 4 June 1989)
head of government: President Mahmud AHMADI-NEJAD (since 3 August 2005) Their president is more of a camera man, the real decisions are made by their Supreme leader Ali Hoseini-Khamenei.
