I am 84 years old, and at my age, death is a constant companion. I try to make light of it , because there really is nothing you can do,about it. My favorite expression is;' I'm not afraid to die, I just don't want to be there when it happens>".

Personally, I ignore this reality. I live each day as if I'm never going to die. I don't want to think about dying there's no point to it. It's an inevitable fact that there's no sense in pondering.

I work in a long term care facility and I have certain things I like to do when a person is dying. I like to make sure they are comfortable and not in pain and medicate as ordered, I always talk to the family about when they want to be called. (some don't want tobe woken up) and if the family is not there I try to be with the patient. I don't think anyone including myself wants to die alone.

Death is a reality and everyone will face it at some point.

I prefer not to dwell upon it. It is not healthy way to live. Rather focus on the positives in life.

Yes, I think about it every time I get in the car with my husband behind the wheel. He's a crazy driver. I had a dream that I was going to die in a fiery car wreck. So yeah, I think about it.

i don't think about death anymore than i think about dawn. i know it will come in its own good time. i don't fear it. i fear a lot of things in life, but not death.

maybe it's because i don't see it as the end. in nature nothing is lost, nothing gained, all is transformed. that's a law of nature. it applies to me too. i won't be lost, just transformed.
maybe it's because i don't see a threat of hell at the other side of death. i'm an atheist, i don't believe in heaven or hell.
maybe it's just because i deal with life as it comes at me. i make the best of what i have without dweling on what i don't. death is something that is not an immediate factor in my life. i don't worry about because i have better things to worry about.

sometimes, if something causes me to think about my own death, i fear for the loved ones i will leave behind. i seem to attract the somewhat unstable variety of people. i can't think of a single time in my life when there wasn't someone depressed and a bit suicidal in my circle of family and friends. maybe because i know who i am and where i stand, they come to me for answers.
i don't fear for me. i have survived a lot in my life. i know i will survive a lot more, and one day stop surviving. when that day comes, i will deal with it.

No, I have been pronounced dead once, and its an eye opener. But I am a Christian and therefore, I know I'm going to heaven in the end and because of that, I'm not going to focus or dwell on it.
