He must be truthful, respectful, loving and caring., sense of humor and not afraid to admit they are wrong. I don't care what they look like it is what is in the heart and the kindness that is shown to other people.

honesty, loalty, compassionate, loving and must be willing to talk about anything and enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. I like to fish, camp, cookout, etc. It would be a plus if he enjoyed music and dancing as much as I do also. I have kids so he would have to like children and doing childlike things at times. I am probably asking for too much in a spouse since mine is none of these things.

Trust, honesty, communication and mostly RESPECT. But I also like a guy with financial stability (NO that does NOT mean rich), a sense of humor, responsibility, he has to have a good relationship with his family. Can I put in here that my ideal man would be tall with dark hair and reasonably good looking?

You have gotten alot of the correct answers. Without trust, honesty & respect - a marriage will fail. For me there's 3 more that some will say are assumed, but I think that assuming it is a mistake!
I need for that person to have self repsect, morals that guide them and courage of conviction.

I've given this question so much thought I could write a book.
I think it really depends on wear you are in your life. I desire security; financial and emotional. I don’t want to every worry about anything. I want to feel protected and loved at all times. I want my husband to walk the earth for me twice without regret just to see me smile once. I desire him to be adventurous, assertive and an asshole (that’s the book). I need him to be focused on his goals without neglecting his family. He has to be smart, which means he can hold a conversation about things not discussed on ESPEN. He has to be passionate, creative and most importantly in love with me. Which requires him to not be easily intimidated by a women who possibly makes more money than he does.
Yes, I know this man doesn't exist but hey its fun to dream.

For a lasting relationship, one should have respect for other's emotions, views and values even if you cant understand them or even if one has contrary views and values on the subject. Making your partner feel cheerful in your company is very very very important.

Hmmmm ... if a guy loves Jesus, yet does not love women human beings, then he's spiritually incomplete, in accordance to Scripture. Why could I marry such a guy? on the different hand, if a guy *actual* loves & respects me, then i could p.c.. him over a guy who did not and suggested as himself a "Christian." (As an "aside," i think of there are countless adult adult males on the instant who *say* they love women human beings, yet particularly do not; they have puzzled lust with love and picture that being promiscuous qualifies them as fanatics of girls human beings. i will assume your question does not pertain to this style of "guy.")
