Feverfew worked well for my father when he had attacks but for a permanent relief of your problem with migraines - try Homoeopathy. Experienced practitioners are used to dealing with this problem and can offer a cure. No drugs with potentially nasty side effects on offer - just a gentle, permanent cure. I've had many, many patients who have suffered decades of migraines cured after a short spell of treatment - the vast majority remaining migraine free many years later. Go to http://www.homeopathy-soh.org/ to find a practitioner local to you. Once they find the remedy for YOU with your migraines (as opposed to treating the migraines in isolation as conventional medicine does), you won't look back.

I have tried everything going for the past three decades, conventional medicine and alternative. The best was Cafergot (stops it almost immediately but leaves you feeling tired out). I've found that since I've been drinking more water, exercising more (not overexercising because that causes migraine too!) and avoiding the classic migraine triggers, I've reduced them by at least 50%. I didn't find much help from aromatherapy or massage, hydrotherapy or homeopathy.

Feverfew is very good, but you should take it as a tincture for up to a month for it to kick in. Also Butterbur has shown very good results, apparently migraine sufferers who took 50mg of standardised extract of this herb twice daily reduced the number of migraine days by 62% over a six month period.
please see article for more info, there's a a remedy called Migravoid which has Butterbur in it,

Please see these article below for more details & also type in migraine in search in this site & look thru' results; which will you more articles & advice for natural remedies (esp at the end on Q&A section):

Have you tried essential oils? Basil (ocimum basilicum) is used for treating migraine, so also is Clary sage (salvia sclarea) Coriander (coriandrum sativum) Lavender (lavandula angustifolia), Marjoram (origanum marjorana),Rosemary (rosmarinus officnalis) .. always buy good quality oils, and don't buy any that don't also have the latin name as well as the english name on the bottle.. Purple flame are particularly good oils, also tisserand...hope this helps.. A good tip is to smell the oils and see which you are drawn to... hope this is a help to you..

You need to know what is the real cause of your migrains in the first place. Can often be influenced by tension in the back and neck. Some massage style therapies can help in this regard, such as Reiki or Rolfing, but is so dependent on your individual situation.

I saw on the TV a few years ago a woman who had tried everything to stop her migraine. I n the end aromatherapy was a complete cure for her. All other treatments had failed. Worth a try. But it takes some weeks to show improvement.

Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

Neither natural, herbal or homeopathic remedies are likely to help.
If your episodes are frequent and severe a preventative could be the answer, though it will need to be taken every day. Sannomigran is the most effective.
For the attacks have you yet been tried on any of the tryptans? Imigran is the oldest and can now be bought over the counter.
