The Goal, greatest sports photograph of all time, one of the top sports moments of all time.
Number 4...Bobby Orr.
What a year, 1969-70. Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, James Norris Trophy, Conn Smythe trophy & Stanley cup.
Best Defencemen in Hockey history, and if it weren't for his chronic knee problems he would be the greatest player that ever lived, yes better than Gretzky.
My dad was at this game and he still talks about it today as one of the most exciting days of his life.
Look at the video and watch Blues defencemen Noel Picard, #4. He slashes Bobby in the ankle just above the skate and lifts up with his stick, but nearly in the same instant Bobby was leaping with joy.
Bobby Orr the man is almost as humble as Bobby Orr the player was great. He loved the game and would NEVER play something up for dramatic effect, he just wasn't that kind of guy.

The photographer got 'lucky' and snapped the picture just as Orr got tripped.
So he's still smiling as he is 'flying' through the air.
I don't think Orr was 'playing it up' nor do I think the media is 'over-hyping' his celebration.
It is a cool picture of a man who is truly happy because he just won the Holy Grail.

As an American, and a Pens fan, i might opt to show out some issues. In u . s . of america we've the "harmless till shown responsible" theory built into our legal gadget, meaning that the load of evidence lies with the cabbie, who he, himself says that this incident is blown way out of share. He does not seek for a legal conviction. If I have been brutally overwhelmed by all people, i might him prosecuted to the fullest quantity of the regulation.... i'm assuming you weren't a witness to this, so which you don't be attentive to the full tale, and Patrick Kane hasn't even instructed his element yet, the two. do you be attentive to how person-friendly this is to make a police record? i could pass precise now and tell them which you assaulted me, even nevertheless i've got in no way met you. Sidney Crosby is without doubt one in all the proper gamers interior the NHL. Do you fairly think of he cares if human beings think of he's a whiner? He does not want you to guard him; hell, he does not even guard himself. he's fairly stylish guy and shall we his play talk for him.

He was tripped, which is why he is in the air parallel to the ice.
The media plays it up because 1) it was a Stanley Cup winning goal--which only happens once a year, and 2) it IS such a cool shot!

If you're referring to the picture, I think he actually left his feet as he was being tripped so that split second is captured for all time.
One of the best give and go goals I ever saw.
