In reading my local news paper today, I see coverage of the areas "May Day" protests. There is one 17 year old illegal alien that is quoted as being upset because she has been told that she is not eligible to receive student aid and must pay out of state rates to go to college. She sees this is unfair and racist and wants the Democrats to reform the immigration policy.
What do you think of that point of view?

Of course she can't receive financial aid and she certainly cannot be considered an in-state student. One year of continuous, permanent and LEGAL state residence is required for that. It isn't an issue of racism, it's an issue of legality and if she's in this country illegally, she needs to leave or apply for legal resident status. WTF is wrong with people? I'm about as liberal and as far left as you can get, but this is simply not the way it's supposed to work!!! You don't see me in Canada demanding free health care, right? Exactly. Because I'm not Canadian!!!! DUH!!!!

First, let me say that I agree that anyone entering the United States should do so LEGALLY. Benefits should not be available to those that do not. But I must give the 17 year old credit for one thing. She has already mastered the entitlement mentality of American youth. She has absorbed the sense of entitlement that is perpetuated by a materialistic and selfish culture. This is the case for so many that are here illegally. The longer this problem is allowed to fester, the harder it's going to be to stop it. I see all out civil war down the road. It is not only possible, but highly probable.

Yesterday I saw a person on the News claiming they had been in America 3 years and should be entitled to Citizenship goods and services.
It made me think. My family dates back to New Amsterdam 1616 After almost 400 years of being in America could I get some of those goods and services too.
Or should I just continue working to build a great nation like the 12 generations before me have done.

I think she is highly out of line. I think she should be deported back to wherever she came from. I think she should shut up about not receiving financial aid for college. I want to know why the hell the school knowing she is illegal doesn't call INS and have her deported back across state lines where she belongs.
