Ok the yankees do spend alot more on the players then the Red Sox does, but that doesn't matter though the Yankees Suck!!!!! Look, the Red Sox are 16-9 and lead the AL East and the Yankees are DEAD LAST with a 10-14 record. My favorite team the Florida Marlins has a better record than that lmao. And when was the last time the yankees won a championship, the years are building up, not to mention they lost their last world series to the Florida Marlins. The Red Sox will win the AL East and the yanks might get a wild card spot if they're lucky

The difference is $46 Million, the reason your roomate says this is because while the difference is huge, it's deceptive when you compare it to the rest of the league who has payrolls that barely crack the $100 Million mark, while the Sox and Yanks battle it out near the $200 million area

The Red Sox payroll is lower, but it's still similar. Any Red Sox fan who cries about needing a salary cap is a hypocrite.
The only joke you need to know is that the Red Sux are a joke. In the time that the Yankees won their 26 WS titles, the Red Sux have won one. ONE! The Yankees are better in every way imaginable, except at whining. The Red Sux and their dimwit fans do that better than anyone. You think the Yankees suck? Well, the Red Sux swallow, you retard!

It's ok. The Yankees have a history of bad aprils and will turn things around and win the division. The Dread Sux won't even make the playoffs LMAO

The difference is that yesterday's loss by the Red Sox is the beginning of the end. Papelbon will be injured again -- far earlier this year. Schilling will fall apart and Matusukaka will prove that he is nothing but a middle of the rotation pitcher.

2007 team payrolls: http://asp.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/salaries/totalpayroll.aspx?year=2007
The gap between first (Noo Yawk) and second (Boston) is larger than the gap between second and eighth (Cubbies).
