If you are wanting to have a bank account and do not want your wife to know you can always open a post office box at the post office so the mail can go there. You will have to let the bank know about the box so they can send the mail there. I had a post office box rented for letters that I use to get from someone that I was seeing while I was married.

I'm just so impressed with all the honest relationships going on here. She is your wife whom you promised to love and honor. Part of that is not to have secrets such as this. Why would you want to have your own account? Is it because she spends too much money and you want to save up, then that's the problem you need to address. If it's to store up a little treasure just in case you might get divorced someday and wouldn't want to share that, then that's rotten and you should not have gotten married in the first place.

The only way your wife would know is if the bank sent anything to your house.
So open an online bank account. If you wife knows how to get into your email, open another email account and use that one. There are tons of reputable online only banks now.

Dont get one. She finds out you are stashing money away somewhere else, you will be in some VERY hot water.
The only thing I can suggest is go to a different bank and have all mailings/statements be sent to a work address or PO box. But if I were you, I would put your wife's name on it incase she does find out and that way it may soften the blow.

One secret leads to another...How would you feel if your wife was keeping secrets from you? This is not the glue that holds a marriage together! Don't take your marriage for granted, it could end. Do the right thing!

Really, the only way to do it is to open up an account at another bank and ask them to either mail your info to your work or an email address. You can even create an email address specifially for that. I'm afraid to ask why you need to sneak.

Why?
My first thought is because you want to cheat on her.
My second thought is because she has compulsive spending problems, and you are trying to look out for her.
In either case, solving the root of the problem will be better than opening a checking account on the side.
Or, is there another reason?

You can do this easily. Go to a bank and open the account.
Now, if you end up divorced, and you live in a common wealth state, you still may end up having to give her half.
(I have an account that my husband doesn't know of)

You are SO setting yourself up for some serious grief. Women find out everything....we are just curious by nature. We need no reason to snoop other than an idea that there *may* be something we don't know. She'll know eventually.....and in the divorce she will get half of what you stockpiled.

The question should be, "How do I get money to put in my secret account?"
