well you should. If we work hard as individuals to protect our children then they wont get abducted/raped/killed. I know how hard it is to convict someone of these kinds of crimes they are all so close to 100% guilty that they should be watched by everyone. Especially the socalled class 3 offenders. I would support a mob rule type approach to this scum. I enjoy the pics of them living under a bridge.

They should relish the fact that they breathe.
Once you have actually seen a dead kid touched the body you are forever changed. People that hurt kids need to be exiled or killed.

Not illegal per se but....... the cornerstone of America is basic rights. The right to be judged, sentenced appropraitly and have a chance to rejoin society as a functional member. This is something America has fought for and we fight in other countries to allow them to have the same.

Yes there is the thing that once a person has commited a horrible crime they should pay for it forever...... teaching others not to do so. But there are many levels and circumstances to what is considered an offender. And if one spotlights that person after the fact basically what you are doing is saying that regardless of what the law says you are now judge, jury and law enforcement.

This is how the law will look at it. Say you pass out flyers. Well those individuals could levy charges of public nuisance, harassment, defamation, get a restarining order and ultimately sue you big time. And you can bet that someone who has already interfaced with law enforcement is going to be way more up on it than you.

There have been many cases where someone did the flyer thing. The offender sued of course. And then various neighbors did as well as it caused a level of fear within the children. People had to move because of stress. Over and over it seems that the person who started it suddenly has to explain to a spouse why they became open to ire and legal fees... and lost everything.

And if that person was so bad whose kids do you think that person would go for? If that person was doing well but suddenly lost it all don't you think they would just go whatever... they might as well do it again.

I am not defending anybody but you best think about it. A quiet word to another parent..... well thats fine. A little vigilance and teaching kids what to do or not do is fine as well. But flyers? Yea, you will have some sort of issue.

Not defending them but it is something to ponder.

In general, making information that is already publically available even more available is not a problem... however, I can easily see things that can go wrong with this.

If locals- either the offenders or the neighbors, make a fuss about it, I think it will be awkward for you- disturbing the peace, solicitation, harassment, and other charges could be used to intimidate you or get you out of the way.

You may also want to evaluate your goals in this. Sex offenders are an easy target today- very emotional, very high profile- but most of the people on the lists are not really threats to our children. Many are there because as children themselves, they committed statutory rape with a minor who was also their boy or girl friend at the time, or did other things that go them on the list without making them a real risk.

We also need to remember- with all the attention on priests, sex offenders, etc., that the biggest risk of molestation is and always has been from a family member or close family friend. This seems to get lost in the flurry of news reports.

Now, having said that, I think you can accomplish your task smarter in some other ways. Meeting your neighbors and talking about concerns in the community- which includes these people- is a good option. Forming a neighborhood association which can deal with many issues works well in many places.

Good heart and good convictions- just may want to tweak the approach!
