I think that neither player should have been drafted. Darius Walker should have stayed at ND for his senior year because he hadn't done much to have a big name in the draft. He really had only one big game that was televised in which he did good. Chris Leak is a good system quarterback, but in the NFL, there are no more system quarterbacks. He is also relatively little and would not be able to take the licks that the NFL will deliver. Plus he doesn't have the necessary arm strength to succeed at the next level. They will be good practice players though.

Doesnt matter what I think or what anyone else on Yahoo Answers thinks to be blunt. It matters what the GMs and head coaches think. And apparently they dont think these two players were worthy of a draft choice. However, they are now rookie free agents and probably have a better chance of making a team or practice squad that getting signed in the 6th or 7th round by a team that would cut them anyways. This way they can shop their services to all the teams. I think both players will end end up getting a shot even if it is only on the practice squad, nfl europe, or special teams.
In fact both Chris Leak and Darius Walker have already signed a rookie free agent deal with the Bears. So they will at least get a chance to prove themselves.

To the person above me who said Chris Leak never accomplished anything? Winning the National Championship, breaking just about every UF record, and a bunch of SEC records is not doing anything? Being a 4 year starter on one of the top teams in America is nothing?
Anyway to get back to the question the probably both shouldnt have been drafted. Leak is short for the NFL and Walker wasn't spectacular. They have a good chance to make atleast the Bears practice squad so we will see how things go.

I think Darius Walker should have been drafted. Although he should have stayed in college, he has some potential to get drafted around round 6 or 7. He should make the squad though.
Chris Leak is a little short for the NFL and his throwing abilities isn't up to NFL QB's standards. I am a Florida Gators fan so i will root for him to make the Bear's squad (even if it is the practice squad)

I think Darius Walker should have been, but with his size I can understand why he wasnt. Chris Leak will have trouble again due to his size but I think could have a shot at producing down the line.
I am actually glad they were not drafted as both were signed by the Bears.

Certain players have what it takes to dominate in the college game, but they would get destroyed in the next level. Even great teams like USC only have a few players go to the NFL each year, so the competition in college cant even be compared to the NFL...Just think of Tommy Frazier from Nebraska, that guy was awesome in college, then didnt get drafted.

Walker could have made a nice seventh round gamble and may turn into a decent third down back.
Chris Leak is destined for a CFL or AFL career.

I honestly think that Walker came out a year too early, but I still feel that he has the chance of becoming a star in the NFL.

Walker has the chance to be servicable, but Leak was a system QB, both with Zook and with Meyer. He will not make it.
