Rahul Dravid no doubt is a defensive player in test cricket. He is difficult to get out clean bowled in normal circumstances. But there were a couple of English Players who were famous for staying at the crease for long time scoring stingy runs.

yes I think so Rahul is Really defficult to get clean bowled.
Where as...........
Marven Atapattu of Sri lanka has the
most technically correct forward defence.
that may be the reason SL did not play him in
Semi finals against Newzealand
ha ha funny eh?

Among the top defenders/defensive guys i think the foll have a place:
R Dravid (IND)
R Ponting (AUS)
D Kaarthick (IND)
Younis Khan (PAK)
M Jayawardene (SL)
S Chanderpaul (WI)
and many more
but not Micheal Hussey

yeah. Not seen him get out like ball passing through the bat and pad or something like that. It can also be seen through his test average where more of a defensive batting is required of.
