I have never posted on craigslist before and I am trying to sell several pieces of furniture. Craigslist warns against cashiers checks, but someone wants to buy a piece of my furniture and says that they only use cashiers checks. Is this a scam? Should I be cash only? Any advice will be appreciated!

Use PayPal, it's the safiest. They reimburse you if someone tries to pull a fast one.

money order is better. i mean, anyone who has cash can get a money order, and if someone can get a cashier's check--well that means they have a bank and can also get a money order just as easily. ask them why they need to use a cashier's check, and if you do take it, get all the information you possibly can from them--driver's license number, phone number, address--so you can track them down if the check doesn't work, but i think that it has to, it's not like a personal check, it's money taken directly from the bank--anyhow, maybe ask your own bank about it!

Do whatever you feel comfortable with and don't compromise. There will always be other buyers.
