I love the name Clara, especially the European spelling. It is nice, too, that she would probably grow up to be the only Clara in her class at school. My daughter, Courtney, had 2 other Courtneys in second grade, which made for a lot of confusion. Also, the name is different without being odd or strapping a child with a name that she will have to explain to people for the rest of her life. I wish you a healthy and uneventful pregnancy and hope that whatever name you choose fits your daughter and she loves it. What were you thinking of as a middle name? Good luck and God bless!!

Clara: I like it!!
I do have a relative with the name.
Nice, friendly, caring, smart, pretty, understanding and helpful.
I think it's a beautiful classic name that is not commonly used anymore. I think of a perfect sunny spring day when I hear the name "Clara"...it's a very pretty name.

This was my grandmothers name so for me it seems a bit old-fashioned but I'm biased. If heard the name today I would assume the person was the prim and proper type/very traditional and respectful. Everyone has a different take on names though because of their personal experiences dealing with people they have meet. When I was young I really like the name Stacy.. until I met a girl named Stacy who was horrid and now the name will always seem snobby to me. Just remember you and the father are the only ones who's opinions really count. GOOD LUCK!

No, I don't know anyone with the name Clara, and for some reason it doesn't bring to mind a particularly positive image. It seems kind of strange, because I do like the name Claire, which brings to mind a peaceful feeling and a person of calm confidence.

I know a sweet little (6 Y.O.) girl named Clara :-)
I think it's a pretty and elegant name.
The feel of the name will be effected by what middle and last name you're using though.
