I have heard about this before in families; and now, unfortunately, I am finding myself in this situation. This affects me and others in our family. If she goes through with this, I will NOT talk to her (sorry, I will not go into details what this is about). This decision will be devastating to a whole lot of family members.

For reasons I won't discuss, I had to distance myself from the majority of my family years ago. There have been times that I felt guilty about my decision but I am much healthier emotionally because of it.

I don't speak to anyone on my mother's side of the family. Including my mother.

Although, I fought with myself over this decision. It's been the most stressless 10 years of my life. I suffered for 25 1/2 years with stress and angst over dealing with them. Now life is easier.

Yes, I do, I haven't spoken to my brother in several years. He made some very bad decisions that affected other people and they have to live with the consequences of his actions. I'm sorry about your circumstance, sometimes we just have to make a choice about what is best for us.

Family is family. They are the always and forever people in our lives. Make amends with your family and become whole again.

all families have black sheep. be mad at her for as long as you need to and then forgive her.

you can't run other people's lives even if they are family members.

just minimize the impact on your own life...

I am having that emotional battle, too, with something one of my sisters said. I don't see how I can forgive and forget this time.
