What is living it to the fullest? I mean everyone has a different idea. If you mean, doing your best at everything you touch and participating more in what was offered through school and such...well, I don't think I WASTED my life by not doing enough of that but your future is determined by the choices you make today. Challenge yourself and be well rounded today and you get better at it. Be lazy or fall to the temptations around you, well, you will get better at that too.
Many people believe living to the fullest means sex, drugs and alcohol. Have sex now and hopefully, you'll be better in bed but poorer at making smart, relational decisions which determine how successful your love life will be. Use drugs or alcohol and learn to live a more complicated, less sober, less present life with false escape routes from your problems. That may sound harsh but look at the adults around you and really get to know them. The average person did participate in these things as a teen but were never FULL enough and as adults are still not full enough no matter how successful they seem at first. The future you look forward to is mediocre and your ability to learn is slowed.
Also who you choose to be friends with does determine who you'll be. We may not seem to make the same decisions our friends do but friendships can be a positive diving board, a challenge to do our best. We often judge ourselves in conjunction to those around us. We are better or smarter than someone who has slept with more people or does so out of relationships when we only do so in relationships. We don't notice that we've been in 4 relationships in the last year and these people once viewed as wonderful boy/girlfriends ended up heading our jerk list. We don't have a drinking problem if we only have a drink a day or get hammered once a month compared to your friends who get hammered at every party. In actuality, the definition of conditions in life and wisdom is not changed by comparing ourselves to those around us....

No. Being a teenager in the late 60's and early 70's was both miserable and exciting...just like being a teenager now. I wasn't especially happy then but I never felt I missed out on anything.

What do you mean by de ful? If you mean hitting the books hard to become all that you can be, no. If you mean being wild and doing things you would most certainly regret, I did my share but yes none the less.
