I have auburn hair huni, when I was at school it was more like the colour you are describing and I got no end of hassle for it and like you would cry myself to sleep some nights, I got ginger nut and all the other horrid things people say when you are younger!
Now I love my hair colour and as I am getting older I have the odd white hair so dye my hair... auburn, the redder the better. I wouldn't change my hair colour for anything now and the reason why is because it is great to be different sweetheart. Take a look around you, everywhere you look its blonde and brown isn't it? how dull to blend in to the background. (no offense meant whatsoever to blonde and brown hair!!)
With regards to burning in the sun try Riemann P20, this sun product is a once only application and allows your skin to tan without burning. I use this and although I dont look like a tanned beauty I do tan and have a healthy glow in the summer. Even though I use this product when in intense heat I do top up every now and then with a factor 15 or something.
Be proud of who you are and the way you look darling in years to come the people that called you names wont be about and even if they are names are only names :-)

Not everyone thinks that red hair is ugly. Just wait a few years. Kids can be jerks sometimes. I know it is hard not to let it bother you, but try. People like that aren't worth your time. Don't' dye your hair. But you might look at the drugstore and notice how many boxes of red hair dye there are. When you get older more people will envy your red hair than tease you about it.

I don't think read hair is ugly. The people making fun of it at your expense are, though. It's also a matter of how you wear it and what clothes you wear to complement your hair and skin tone. Redheads have very fair skin and don't tan well, so don't try--you'll just damage your skin and maybe get skin cancer. Also red hair doesn't usually handle dye very well and can be damaged. Hang in there. The older your friends get, the less they'll act like shallow immature jackasses and will focus less on appearances and more on personality. Your day will come, sweetheart.

Not everyone hates red hair! Look how unique you are! How many women would give anything to have your hair?
If you hate it that much though see if your parents will let you get just highlights. Not a drastic change just something to tone it down a bit.
As for the pale skin, I use a sunless tanner or sometimes you can get the total body sunless tanner applied at a tanning salon.
Good Luck!

I have naturally red hair, but I dye it! I hate it. My skin isnt that fair though andI do tan well. I keep my hair blonde or brown. I probably will never go back to red. Go to the tanning bed if your light skin bothers you. If you go for short times at first and only every other day, you can build up a tan gradually without burning. Or you could get a airbrush tan that lasts for about 2 weeks at a salon. You could even use sunless tanners at home. If your parents won't let you dye your hair, then maybe it's better that you don't yet. But if it is really important to you, let them know exactaly what you go through and why you want to do it.
Good luck!

From one redhead to another, kids grow out of it. When your a teen or a woman and guys start noticing girls you will stand out soo much more. I tried dying it, but it never worked, it always just changed the shade of red. Plus you get the really great nicknames from guys.
Just smile and be confident, and if your that worried about the paleness have you thought of doing a slight fake tan, or using the jergens daily tan lotion?
Everyone says to be yourself, but sometimes standing out so much can be really hard so if you want to do a bit of something to make yourself less obvious go for it, but never forget your natural beauty.

Most of them do mean it as a joke. Personally I LOVE red hair!!! As for the pale skin that usually goes with it, THAT I have, and I know how ya feel. I used to just wear pants all fo the time, but gave up. I live in Florida and its just too darn hot to worry about it!!!

Don't even think about dying your hair!! Red hair is very pretty!! Lots of people are cruel, some don't even realize they are hurting your feelings!! I have pale skin too and I don't tan!! A self-tanning lotion or spray will give you some color and it's alot better than sun tanning anyway!! Too much sun causes skin cancer and pre-mature aging. When I was in my teens I had a friend who had red hair like yours, all the boys thought she was hot!!

personally, I love red haired girls. Stay true to yourself! So you wear like SPF 50 going out, but the upside when you are older you won't have the skin cancer/wrinkles that come with being in the sun.
As for the mean comments...people usualy make them when they are jealous. Take the high road and remind them you'll still look great in 25 years. Plus look around at all the girls who ADD red to their hair.
:)

Well if people think that you are too pale and people don't like your red hair, just ignore them. i know it's easier said then done but i you ignore them they will leave you alone. If people still go on about your red hair and they don't have red hair tell them, well at least my hair is original. I am in my first year of high school and i think that red hair is cool and i even know some one who died their hair red. So don't worry about it girl. live your life and have fun living it! :)
