I like to hear good music, whoever thinks Mars Volta sucks may prefer other music I like, help me find a proper band.

Mars Volta don't suck, have you heard Fall Out Boy or MCR lately? Compared to them The Mars Volta are godly!

Well i my eyes some proper bands are the velvet underground, Pulp, Relaxed Muscle, The Fall, david bowie (though hes not a band) and finally RUN D.M.C. there are loads but not liking mars volta doesnt really tell us alot about your music taste

I actually like The Mars Volta! But you might like something along the lines of Carbon Leaf.

thank you, someone else who dislikes Mars Volta. i saw them open for The Red Hot Chili Peppers last summer and man, they sucked. there's--what? like 7 or 8 or 9 band members?--and there's not enough talent between them to form any cohesive sound.
i would recommend listening to Tool and any of the bands that branch from its members (A Perfect Circle) and Audioslave, along with its connected bands (Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, and Chris Cornell's solo efforts). dunno if you'll dig it, but it might mesh with what you listen to.
