Referring to Kosovo and Clinton's handling of it....(0 troop deaths)

“Victory means exit strategy and it’s important to explain to us what the exit strategy is.” –George W. Bush, Governor of Texas 1999

“If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal, and an exit strategy.” Karen Hughes, Speaking on behalf of Presidential Candidate George W. Bush 1999

Or is it all the Republicans who have this disorder?

"President Clinton is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
-Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)

"You can support the troops but not the president"
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)

Bombing a sovereign nation for ill-defined reasons with vague objectives undermines the American stature in the world. The international respect and trust for America has diminished every time we casually let the bombs fly."
-Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)

Yeah, Andy it's called "diplomatic pressure"...you don't actually commit anything, but it sends a message, and it obviously worked...Clinton sent a lot of messages to Sadaam like that and he didn't have WMDs which was the ultimate goal, fool.

You don't attack nation's on a hunch, but you do talk tough in order to have them bend to your will.

Your primary problem is believing the BS meme we never had an exist strategy.

Try reading up on reality. We have, and we still do. It evolves with the conditions on the ground. Links provided below. Moreover, you don't exactly forecast your every next move to the enemy, that's dumb, study warfare history.

"Clinton sent a lot of messages to Sadaam like that and he didn't have WMDs which was the ultimate goal, fool. You don't attack nation's on a hunch" Ummm, Cinton bombed Iraq multiple times throughout the 1990s honey. Clinton also thought Iraq had WMDs, hence he bombed them. Finally, you don't wait for your country to be attacked because you're not 100% certain, people rarely are. I think you should read what Hillary said leading up to the war, she spoke about this precise issue, as did Pelosi and others. In fact, if you search "democrats + quotes + WMDs or Iraq" you'll see Dems were fairly certain about Iraq, and hence, voted for the AUTHORIZATION to use military force.

No thats all B.S its impossible to suffer such a thing unless you are completely insane, you cant have multiple personalities, just think how atupid that sounds. Bipolar doesn't mean multiple personalities, it means that a person could be happy one minute then completely upset the next, with no apparent reason. If I wanted to act like I didnt do it then I would use the excuse and say I dont know what happened it must of been my other personality. About a year ago I read an article about some lady that suppossedly had like seven personalities, but was married and had a 19yr old daughter that never knew, and thats not all her 7 personas had a distinct way of painting what they had lived, the lady was making some weird stuff and was selling the art, for a preatty peny

Great question. I remember DeLay and the others using the phrase "clear exit strategy" about 70 times a day during that period.

But in 2007 Bush-Speak, "clear exit strategy" is equivalent to "politicians telling the generals how to run a war from 6000 miles away".

As far as the comment above from the con about DailyKos, ok, if you don't like the site, read the quotes.

As far as this con poster above: "President Bush has provided an exit strategy. When the Iraqi gov't can protect itself and the citizens of Iraq w/o US combat troops we will leave."

Yeah, crystal clear, clear as a bell. Let's let the Iraqis decide when our troops go home. Way to go.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Bush is really almost brain dead.He has managed to fool allot of people, but I really think he is a gigantic puppet, possibly of Cheney, maybe even a shadowy Corporate figure that has given him directives. He may be good at memorizing certain things, but seems to stick to cunningly crafted talk points,in a repetitious pattern.Has anyone noticed his inability to answer questions that are not pre screened. All of his appearances before the public are way to rehearsed. He is a spoiled rich kid,son of a President, hand picked for his Reganistic style, but mostly for his ability to be manipulated.

Maybe you should try to run for president.

It's a big job, and one that had no definite answers - as few things in life do.

I'm not a Bush fan - but give the man a break. Having your nation's sovereignty attacked under your watch can throw you into havoc.

The Kosovo conflict was a completely different war, and was able to be fought in a totally different way. You are comparing apples and oranges. (By the way, if Clinton had pursued bin Laden when he was warned instead of half a**ing it, then 3,000+ people would not have been killed on 9/11 and maybe 3,000+ soldiers would still be with us.)

We are dealing with extremists who do not fight fair, and who are not really military - thus making the war that much more difficult to fight, survive and win.

nobody every said we were perfect, but if you put those quotes back into context they come across a bit different. However, It is nice to see that there is someone on the forum who understands the concept of backing up an arguement with eveidence. Many of us on both sides of the isle are guilty of not doing our homework.

The hypocrisy and the spin is astounding isn't it? Andy G's answer cracks me up. When in doubt point to Clinton to answer questions about Bush lol! Trouble is that Clinton adopted a policy of containment. It must have really burned Bush's butt to go into Iraq and find out it was working.

Hypocrisy is one of my pet peeves and the Republicans are drowning in it.

I wonder what all the YA bushlovers will have to say about this.

Andy G! Lack of backbone is when you are told that your country is under attack and you FREEZE like a deer caught in headlights for SEVEN MINUTES.

Such behavior is also indicative of a lack of faith in God.

My favorite quote is "You can support the troops but not the president" -Representative Tom Delay (R-TX)

I would really like to hear the bushlovers on this site respond to Delay's comments and not duck it as Andy G, mouthy coward, has done.

Neither

He was calling for the PRESIDENT to come up with an exit strategy.

Just like today, he the President is reponsible for the exit strategy NOT Congress.

President Bush has provided an exit strategy. When the Iraqi gov't can protect itself and the citizens of Iraq w/o US combat troops we will leave. OR If The Iraqi Gov't asks us to leave (they vote on it every year) we will

Thats the exit strategy coming from the CIC just like all those repubs asked the CIC to do for Bosnia.

No contradiction, VERY consistent.

Its just you DON'T LIKE IT.

Next lib, I am done with this one
