You might want to try networking groups, about 61% of jobs come through networking. There are always lots of free networking groups and you can find good job possibilities that are posted for everyone else. I'm Chairman of a Chemistry networking group, and we really do help people all the time. It's all about people helping people. Yahoo also has many newsgroups for job seekers, and they can be a great source of leads. Just go to Yahoo Groups and do a search for your area.

Hi! I know exactly how you feel about being unemployed and not having the money to pay bills. I've been unemployed for a little over 6 months now and I won't have the money to pay my bills, if I don't go back to work soon. It would be a lot easier for me to find a job if I didn't have any gaps on my resume and also if I kept jobs longer than I did. I've been laid off 7 times, due to having bosses who weren't satisfied with my work, plus I've quit 4 jobs, half of which I left, due to having a boss with financial problems who couldn't pay me or my co-workers, as well as the office rent and utilities. What a bummer! Why do bad thing always happen to me and when will my bad luck end permanently? I have experience in only one field-transportation and logistics, so I've had absolutely no luck changing careers either. It really makes me angry and depressed. I have no idea how to solve my problems either. Having 11 jobs in the past 25 years or so is really bad and not keeping them very long really jeopardizes my chances to go back to work.

What kind of work do you do? My daughter sent her resumes out and the cold called the people afer a few days. She ended up with a really god job at almost twice her pay.
She also posted on monster.com and got some calls that way. She also went to temp services to get some money. I know its probably not what you want to do but waitressing is a good way to make money to help with the bills. If you want a job, there are plenty out there that you can do and still fit in time for job interviews

I am sorry about your situation. Don't lose hope as these things often take time.
Are you looking for careers in your chosen field? Or maybe reaching beyong your expertise?
Have you created serach agents on Career Builder, Monster, Hot Jobs?
Have you contacted your area Chamber of Commerce locations?
Are you actively networking and attending business related meetings?
Have you contacted your local Rotary Clubs, Professional Business organizations?
Have you looked at what the local Univeristies are offering on thier jobs?
Have you let everyone and thier "circle of influence" know you are looking and for what type of job?
If you are a member of a Church or Synagogue, have you let other members there know?
These are just a few ideas. I actually sent a ton of resumes out like yourself at one time. I had such little luck as I was moving to a new state and people just didn't seem to open their doors to me. The scary thing is that I had already bought a house in the new state and had a baby to support as a single mom!!However, by fate, I met a woman in the shoe department of Macys (believe it or not). Because I am very outgoing and friendly, we started chatting. Turned out her mother worked at a high level job in the exact City I was moving to. I asked if I could send her my resume and was invited to do so. She did not have a position at the time, but knew of someone that did, and BINGO! I ended up with a great job for 1 year now. My Boss has "his moments" but otherwise, it is a true blessing.
Hang in there. Don't lose hope as that will bleed into all of your potential interviews and prospecting for jobs.
I am living proof. Good luck my friend!!

Make sure your resume is posted online on the job boards: Hot Jobs, Monster, Career Builder, etc.
Check the local job listings in your area on CraigsList. They usually have a ton of openings & those companies are sometimes the smaller firms that don't want to/can't afford pay big bucks for the job boards.
Keep a positive outlook & good luck!

First of all what job skills do you have? what were the circumstances you left your last employment? Have you gone to a temp agency like Manpower, Western or Kelly for an interview and job possibilities? Many temp agencies lead to full time employment.
Also check with the Unemployment Office they get job in their books all the time and they will set up the interview for you too.

Try a temp agency. It may not be steady or the best job but it will pay the bills. Also your unemployment office may be able to help you find something.

I went to Temp agencies for work, until one of the jobs I had applied for called me (8 months later).
