I have to share a cubical with a gal that thinks she is an un-discovered American Idol superstar. When she has her headphones she makes the most nurve racking sounds trying to sing. I have told her that i was sure an animal was in pain over there. I made many referances to her bad singing. She just does not get it. She thinks I am joking or sometime. What whould you do?

you have alot of options.
Sabotage her music player
If against company guidelines to disrupt other individuals or have a music player then just tell your boss and the annoying girl will get fired or disciplined.
Tell her frankly that she is a horrible singer and she needs to stop or you will report her.
make fake singing lesson coupons
make a track of horrible noises and loop it on her music player.
sabotage her office supplies...

First, stop beating around the bush. Whether or not she is a good singer or bad singer, it is disturbing your work space.
Tell her this directly, openly, honestly and PRIVATELY.

"Suzy, your singing is disturbing me in my cubicle. I'd appreciate it if you'd stop. It's very difficult to continue working when you are singing."

If she continues, escalate this to management. Keep it to the work place. Don't say she sings badly, because then you sound more like a critic than an employee concerned with getting work done. Extraneous noise grates on the nerves. It is expedient to all involved to keep it to an absolute minimum.

Have you tried telling her directly and seriously that her singing is disturbing your ability to work and asking her to stop (as opposed to just "making references to her bad singing)? If you haven't been direct, then it's not unlikely that you could have sounded like you were joking around, making conversation.

If you have asked her directly, then it's time to go to your manager, and tell them (again, directly) that she is disturbing you, and that you need the situation addressed so that you can get your work done.
