Yes we know what we want & and because of that you asked this question &im answering to you. If we really don't know what will have to do we are called confused. But we are not confused, sometimes we are not able to deciede what to do? We know very well what we want, also sometimes when we get lot, we can't choose the right one for us.

its not what we want....wants are limited, they can be quantified and defined....most of the time we know what we want. What we want is actually a means, the end is different. But in the process of wanting, the means becomes an end in itself. So when we reached that stage where the want is fulfilled, we do not realize it and still feel the void. At least to me, that is how it goes. To sum it, we sure know what we want, 99 people out of 100 do not know beyond it.

What one wants to do can be anything of interest to them, that they choose and that being in turn a stepping stone to what they want emotionally like happiness. Your chocies are never limited eg. my son wanted to be in the military, he was, then he wanted to be a chef, he is. Now he wants to be a fireman and I'm sure he will be, and I'm sure he'll find his happiness, whether it be in his career, his relationships or even in the constant adapting to change should he be insatiable. All you have to do is make a decision.

Life is too dynamic to make do with any fixed goal.... keeps evolving as time passes and experience gained... what we know is just the current status subject to change in future.

In most cases, not. Learning the truth about ourselves and our desires is at least as difficult as learning physics, more likely more so as there's no math to give a helpful framework.

When we think we know , that is when we do not know.
Every thought is a conclusion, a judgement some way or other, please look at it carefully. Perception , just the process of witnessing, the aspect of looking deepens more , the longer we are at it, and then we really know.
