I've got an application in front of me now but have no idea what to write or how to start. I'm particularly having trouble starting the personal statement. Any ideas?

Well, not knowing anything about you, I can't be of much help with the personal statement. Think of things that are important to you or unique aobut you. For example, you might want to say "I'm a hard worker who enjoys learning new things. I plan to continue my education in _______ so that I can further my career in _______."
It's just a sentence or two, not a novel. Good luck.

Can't give you any specifics without knowing what the job is about. But put something about wanting a job where you can use your (talents, education, experience, whatever) to contribute to the organization
