It seems on the majority that no one really likes my boy names...William Edward and Patrick James. So I went through to come up with some new ones. I really like old-fashioned and traditional names, but I want them to sound a little trendy too. This is the list of other names I like: Nolan, Vincent, Walter, Timothy, Gregory, Wallace, and Stanley. Are these names better? What are your favorites out of these? Does anyone have any other suggestions with the styles I like?

I want to say that I adore your names William Edward and Patrick James. William Edward is my nepwhew's name and he goes by Will and it's really cute. The people who don't like those names aer the ones that want to name children things like Shadow and Ninja.
Well, I can't argue with Nolan as it is part of my own name. Stanley is awesome-very retro cool/classic. Same way with Walter.
The rest I like because they are real names but they don't stand out as names I love.
I'm-a telling you, Will Will Will! :)
Good luck.

I think William Edward and Patrick James are fine names. Of the new names you've chosen my faves are Nolan, Vincent, and Timothy.
How about Nolan Vincent, Nolan James, Timothy Edward, William Nolan, Patrick Nolan, or Vincent Edward?

I must be old fashioned too then cause I really like your two original manes:
Patrick James
(Obvious nicknames: PJ, Paddy, Jim, Jimmy) and
William Edward
(Obvious nicknames for those two names are: Will, Billy, Bill, Ed, Eddie, Teddy)
When He's small you'll most likely call him by a nickname (FIL was Billy as a boy, today he goes by a nickname of his other name Tom). You have strong masculine names, that your son will appreciate as an adult, no prissy could be either sex name :-).
Of your "new" names I like Timothy and Gregory.
Go with your gut feeling, even if "people" think you're old fashioned in your choice. "unique" is in right now, but your son will still have to live with his name for almost a century, after the trend is gone and you're laughing a bit at the names people gave their kids (a lot like the names the hippies used in the 60'ies... they are a little odd these days, in my opinion).

I like Nolan and Vincent. Not Walter or Stanley. I think William Edward is fine for a boy.
Here's a few you may or may not like:
Douglas Sumner, Landon James, Bradley Joseph, Lance Aaron, James Thomas
Good luck! :)

Nolan #1 and Vincent #2 are my picks from your new list. I like some names in full but don't care for the shortened version, which is why I don't care for Walter (wally), and Stanley (stan) too much, since it's inevitable that somewhere along the way, names usually are shortened.
