Chewing is accomplished with molars, almost no babies have opposing molars when they start table food which for the baby food crowd is 9-12 monts. For those of us who do baby led our kids start table food right away. Including meats, and hard fruit like apples.
There is no reason she can't, bite and chew with her gums. In fact when the sharp molars start to come in, and the gums are extremely painful is when most toddlers have trouble chewing.

there are still table foods she can eat even without teeth. mac and cheese, cereals, very soft vegies, jelly sanwiches and even very tender chicken cut really small. she can gum all of those. she's still to young for things that require to much chewing anyway.

Maybe a quick uppercut to her lower jaw will help those teeth cut through???? no,no,no-I'm not serious- babies all develop at their own pace........be assured that her teeth WILL come in......be happy and enjoy this time where she CANNOT bite you!!!!
