Barny Fife would be a conservitive democrat. I see hhim being a John Leiberman kind of guy because he never lied, he was independent, he seemed to want to be part of something bigger but never did anything to make people think he was a team player. He was good guy, tried to make it look like he was tough on crime but in reality he was a teddy bear

Barney, would be Against Abortion and Losing the WAR. Therefore he could not be a Democrat, I think that just about everyone in Mayberry would be a Republican.
