Melinda is the best singer on the show - hands down. But if she wins, she's likely to run into the same thing that Kelly Clarkson did, which was an album that she had no control over that ended up being terrible. It wasn't until Kelly fulfilled her AI obligations and got out on her own that she took off.
Would you rather see someone else win so that Melinda can put out an album that would suit her, or do you just want her to win and deal with the fallout later?

I've always thought that the people who have won have gotton sort of a bad deal - because they seem to be trapped into doing albums with so-so pop songs. Melinda and LaKisha (a very strong condender with Melinda) have nothing to worry about if they don't win the title, they will have more than they ever dreamed of.

I don't think Melinda is as good as everyone thinks. Aside from last night, Jordin is without a doubt a better female singer than Melinda. But there's no doubt the best is Blake and he's going to the finale

Agreed she is the best singer, and I really like her personality as well. But... that said, I wonder how that sweet persona will work if she is a "star" I am sick of watching people that come into the spotlight so sweet and innocent and are quickly devoured by the Hollywood demon. It's best seen with the child stars when they turn 18 (Lindsay Lohan, MK & A, Hilary Duff....) I would hate to see someone as sweet and nice as Melinda get eaten up by that destructive world.

She's such a great singer, that whether she wins or loses, she'll do well after the show. If she wins and gets a so-so album out, it will still sell, I'm sure, and she'll eventually grow into a big star. If she doesn't win, another recording company will grab her up in a heartbeat with a good deal for everyone. She's got such talent, and everyone loves her.
I don't know why Simon said rock wasn't her genre, 'cause she KICKED IT last night for the Bon Jovi theme. She was amazing, she really did better than she expected, you could see it.

Melinda should win,but like you said ,all the idols have been a flop when it comes down to their cd's. Clay is doing well and he was runner -up. So who knows.
