My mom just had one and they asked her stupid azz questions like "Why do people that live in glass house do not through a baseball?" She said cause the window would break. That wasn't the only stupid question they asked. I don't remeber but she told me another one. I wouldn't worry, It's not common sence anyway.

No i personally have not but if you are having to go for one than just be yourself and he honest and you will do well. Good luck to you and i wish you the best. Why are they wanting to do a mental health evaluation on you for Child custody if i may ask?

both me and my kids and my ex were put through that. He convinced the courts I might have mental problems but they made him go too. BTW, I still have custody, they found more wrong with him..LOL Don't worry they can find something wrong with everyone.......We all had our tests done separately but mine consisted of talking about the relationship and my family life growing up, interpretting pictures to determine how your mind thinks, answering a 500 page true or false survey and a few shorter parenting ones.... I am sure each psychologist does things a little different but just relax and be honest and I am sure you'll do fine.......

There is no such thing as doing your best. You need to just be yourself. These tests are designed to show whether a parent is the abusive type, a negligent type, or the type to let the child always have his/her own way, etc. You need to just be yourself (upbeat and keeping the child as the primary important person). Selfish people usually don't do well on these tests. Keep in mind the Kim Basinger/Alec Baldwin ordeal. Both parents are fighting and making the child suffer because of it. Either of them could be civil to the other for the sake of the child, but they don't.

I have not received one, but have adminsitered them to others as part of my job.

You will be asked questions about your social history, in othe words, what is was like for you growing up. You will be asked what kind of parenting pracitices or discpline your parents gave you, and also what kind of discipline or parenting styles you do.

You will also be asked questions about your immediate family and hosuehold: who lives with you, etc. You will also probably have a "walk through" of your house, so that the evaluator will see what your house and physical make up of your home is like.

And finally, most evaluators ask for a list of references whom they can contact to get an idea of how you are described by others.

Don't try to manipulate the test/screening as it will show that you are not being honest and are trying to present yourself in an "overly favorable manner." Answer honestly - we are all human and the Court takes that into consideration when deciding who the child(ren) should live with.

Honesty is the best way to go.

I know people who have, and honestly it's not something yo u can study for or be on your "best behavior". They're trained to see what people hide, kind of like a liar detector test. Two that I know of, one failed and one didn't, but the one who failed, the results didn't show that the person was a "threat" to themselves or anyone else....hence they passed in reality.

you really can't prepare yourself for a mental evalutation because they don't ask you obvious questions like hey are you crazy! they ask you all sorts of random questions and see how you react and talk to you and see what you say. the people that do the tests are experts so all you need to do is answer honestly and you'll be fine

What you should parent it out is why your father is being denied visitation. Is it from the mummy or no longer ordered by skill of the court docket? If there's a court docket order permitting visitation, and he or she refuses, then she would be in a position to be held in contempt of court docket. yet he desires written logs of the mummy's strikes and witnesses pointing out she is risky. If the youngster is a prisoner in the homestead, then CPS desires to be in contact.
