I have 2 monitors hooked up to the computer using VGA and DVI connection. When I go to my display properties (WinXP Pro) I select the option to "Extend" my desktop and it works no problem. But whenever I reboot I have to repeat this process! It's as if the OS forgot the display setting preference.

It might be that the plug-n-pray is not seeing one of the monitors.

In the Display properties window there is a pull down on the line where it shows you which display is highlighted. Click on this and it should say:
1. Plug and Play Monitor on
2. Plug and Play Monitor on

If either of them say something else, such as Default Monitor
then the plug-n-play is not working. Try installing the INF file (driver) for that monitor. That should make Windows ignore the plug-n-play and just use the INF file settings.

You might need to load the latest XP pro service pack.

If you have already done this, then you might need to update the drivers for the video card.

If that doesn't work, then contact the manufacturer of the card and describe your problem.

If they won't help you, then just stop rebooting your machine.

Simple.
