If you are not comfortable with that noisy fan, just replace it w/ a quieter fan. Consider this:

I'm guessing you have a bearing problem in the fan (the usual cause of such a noise). I suggest you open the case and boot the PC briefly after unplugging each fan's power cable in turn, i.e., one at a time. This will confirm which fan has the problem, as it could be a motherboard, CPU, video card, or case fan. You then have three options:

1. Return the part since you just bought it. The "part" might be the entire case, video card, or motherboard.

2. Replace the fan only. They're cheap - possibly cheaper than the cost of shipping back a defective part. Make sure you check the manufacturer's web site to get the right fan to fit your component.

3. Live with it. Many noisy fans still give years of effective service. This option is a risk, so watch your indicators for heat problems.

I have 6 case fans, 1 CPU fan, and a fan on my video card. When I start my computer it sounds like a jet is taking off...

There's nothing wrong with the sound as long as it's not a grinding sound (the there may be a bearing problem). If sounds like your outside AC unit fan (air moving and blades spinning kinda sound) then there isn't any problem.

If you can't handle the noise there are quieter fans, but they normally don't push as much air and can cause heat problems inside the case if you don't have it ventilated properly.
