The first answer is a good one. But it depends on your usage.

Any of these would be reasonable:

It's America's favorite.
The typical American's favorite food is...
The stereotype says that all Americans' favorite food is...

And definitely drop the u.

do you mean America the country?

If you do then it is:-

America's favourite (the u is there just for the laugh)

do you mean American people ?

If you do then it is:-

Americans' favourite (more laughter from Americans who find the u funny)

Americans is the plural of American
If we want it to be:-

The favourite of the Americans, then the apostrophe must go after the S

Americans' favourit (more roars of laughter)

Clear and crystal ????

I guess you can use "Americans' favourite food" or America's favourite food.

The first one is referring to people while the second is referring to the country in general.

It would be "America's favorite".

America as in the whole country, and the "u" is only in British spellings.

You could leave it in for humor, though.
