meaning the civil rights movements..what did they reform? what were their goals

To sum up the civil rights movement in a few short sentences would be like trying to squeeze orange juice from an apple. It had nothing to do with putting 'whitey in his place' It was finding a place for everyone regardless of race, color. or creed.
There were many views about how to achieve this some with violence and some with passiveness. The protests involved all manner of people, rich, poor, famous, educated and uneducated, black, white, yellow, red, all colors and races. They stood side by side wanting change in America. To believe "That All Men Were Created Equal"
